SLURP-14 | Deprecation of SDL Token Mint Function

Abstract

Pursuant to SLURP-8 | SDL Tokenomics 2.0, it is proposed that the ownership of the SDL token contract (0xA95C5ebB86E0dE73B4fB8c47A45B792CFeA28C23) be disposed of by the stake.link Multi-Sig (0xB351EC0FEaF4B99FdFD36b484d9EC90D0422493D) by calling the renounceOwnership function, effectively disabling the ability to mint additional SDL tokens on Ethereum mainnet, and capping the maximum total supply of SDL at 100,000,000.

Rationale

With the implementation of SLURP-8, the SDL token no longer requires an elastic supply. Newly joining node operators will be allocated SDL from the treasury instead of from a fresh mint of SDL.

Specification

The stake.link Multi-Sig (0xB351EC0FEaF4B99FdFD36b484d9EC90D0422493D) will call the renounceOwnership function, thereby preventing the creation of new SDL tokens.

Seems like this one won’t bring much debate.

Just curious, how is the Multi-sig configured and who is part of it?

This looks good.
It’s a good way to declare that we are capping our supply.
